Jockey Kent Desormeaux took Parading to the winner's circle on the Preakness day undercard. Affirmatif and Everyday Heroes won three-year-old turf and sprint races.

Following up his win May 15 in the first ever Pimlico Jockey Challenge, jockey Kent Desormeaux gathered in a Dixie Stakes (G2) victory on the Preakness Stakes undercard May 16 aboard six-year-old Pulpit son Parading.

Unbridled's Song daughter and Affirmed granddaughter Affirmatif, favored in the $50,000 Woodlawn Stakes turf event, didn't disappoint. She won drawing away by 2-1/4 lengths.

Three-year-old Everyday Heroes, an Awesome Again colt, remained unbeaten in four career races by winning the $100,000 Hirsch Jacobs Stakes fifty-one hundredths off the track record.

Parading Wins Fifth Turf Event

Parading is healthy again after sustaining a string of injuries, Robert Medina told interviewers. Medina assists head trainer Shug McGaughey. "...he's always been a horse we thought would be a star," Medina claimed.

Desormeaux said the horse has "stamina for days". Parading won his fifth turf race from twelve starts on the grass.

On Parade, by Storm Cat is Parading's dam. The chestnut's sire, Pulpit, is by A.P. Indy, by Seattle Slew.
