Following up his win May 15 in the first ever Pimlico Jockey Challenge, jockey Kent Desormeaux gathered in a Dixie Stakes (G2) victory on the Preakness Stakes undercard May 16 aboard six-year-old Pulpit son Parading. Unbridled's Song daughter and Affirmed granddaughter Affirmatif, favored in the $50,000 Woodlawn Stakes turf event, didn't disappoint. She won drawing away by 2-1/4 lengths. Three-year-old Everyday Heroes, an Awesome Again colt, remained unbeaten in four career races by winning the $100,000 Hirsch Jacobs Stakes fifty-one hundredths off the track record. Parading Wins Fifth Turf EventParading is healthy again after sustaining a string of injuries, Robert Medina told interviewers. Medina assists head trainer Shug McGaughey. "...he's always been a horse we thought would be a star," Medina claimed. Desormeaux said the horse has "stamina for days". Parading won his fifth turf race from twelve starts on the grass.
