The personable track star Cigar leads all thoroughbreds in lifetime money earnings. He is a two-time Horse of the Year. His former jockey is second on the money list.

There's no catching Cigar in lifetime track earnings. He leads all thoroughbreds in career earnings at just under $10 million. The man who rode him in the 1990s, including to a triumph in the inaugural Dubai World Cup, is Jerry Bailey. The jockey is second on the riders' all time career earnings list.
