Canada's Stronach, Pizarro, and Kodiak Kowboy May Double Up Awards
Canada handed out Thoroughbred Sovereign Awards in December. Owner Frank Stronach, Jockey Tyler Pizarro and Kodiak Kowboy could all become American winners as well.
Several top candidates and champion Thoroughbreds may win 2007 awards in American racing as well as in Canada, which named its award winners in December. America's Eclipse Awards ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 21 at the Beverly Whilshire Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Among possible duplicate award winners are Tyler Pizarro for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey, winner in Canada and candidate in America; Kodiak Kowboy, Champion Two-Year-Old Colt in Canada and candidate in America; and Frank Stronach's Adena Springs stables, winner in Canada and candidate in America for Outstanding Owner and Breeder.

The annual American Eclipse Awards are named after the outstanding 18th Century English runner and sire, Eclipse. They have been presented each year beginning in 1971.
