Hooh Why and Rachel Alexandra Led Females in Ashland and Fantasy

Hooh Why won her first stakes in the Ashland and Medaglia d' Oro daughter Rachel Alexandra rolled over her competition in the Fantasy Stakes by nearly nine lengths.

Mr. Prospector granddaughter Hooh Why achieved a notable first stakes win in the April 4 Ashland Stakes, beating Gozzip Girl to the wire by a neck, but more grandly, handing sensational filly Stardom Bound her first loss.

Stardom Bound wowed in last fall's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and was unbeaten in two starts this year.

Rachel Alexandra Dismisses Field in Fantasy

It was no fairy tale in the Fantasy Stakes April 5 at Oaklawn Park where Rachel Alexandra destroyed her rivals by 8-1/4 lengths. Rachel, rather, grew her believer base by imressively knocking off Afleet Deceit and Larry Jones-trained Just Jenda.

Jockey Calvin Borel, a favorite personality from the Bayou, steered Rachel Alexandra to her sixth win from nine starts.
